Morningside Supper Series: Sam Jones - SOLD OUT

Third generation pitmaster Sam Jones of Sam Jones BBQ and the famous Skylight Inn was named a 2018 James Beard Foundation Awards Semifinalist for “Best Chef: Southeast” and published the cookbook Whole Hog BBQ: The Gospel of Carolina Barbecue. Inspired by his family’s legacy and hard work, Sam has dedicated his life to the art of making traditional Eastern North Carolina-style pork barbecue.

Be our guest Wednesday, May 8 to enjoy an evening in the Sperry Tent with Tennessee-based Nelson’s Green Brier alongside Sam Jones and Trevor Stockton. Sample a selection of Tennessee whiskies as dinner is prepared over an open fire.

Morningside Supper Series: Khaled AlBanna

Chef Khaled AlBanna is the chef and co-owner of Calliope, a modern Levantine restaurant and bar in Chattanooga, TN. Chef Khaled has been recognized as an emerging chef in the culinary world, including an invitation as honoree chef at the Iconoclast Dinner at the James Beard House. At Calliope, he blends influences from travel and time in the South with his Levantine roots and cooking style, bringing the best of both worlds to the table. From open fire cooking to traditional Levant culture and traditions, Chef Khaled's dishes are a reflection of his journey and culinary expertise.

On Monday, August 5, Chef Khaled will cook alongside RT Lodge Executive Chef Trevor Stockton for a collaborative dinner experience beneath the Sperry Tent. Dinner will include drink pairings by Raven Humphrey of Calliope.

The Gathering at RT Lodge

Created with the goal of bringing together chefs, farmers, and makers for a full weekend of exciting events to celebrate the connection between us all, The Gathering 2024 will be held September 27-29.

Abigail Black of Henrietta Red, Sam Fore of Tuk Tuk Sri Lankan Bites, Sahar Siddiqi of Chai Pani and Sarah and Karl Worley of Biscuit Love join RT Lodge Executive Chef Trevor Stockton and Pastry Chef Caitlyn Cox to create two collaborative and immersive dinner experiences at the historic RT Lodge. Additional culinary talent to be announced!

In addition to enjoying incredible dinners Friday and Saturday night, our weekend package includes an exclusive foraging excursion lead by local expert Shannon Walker and admission to curated daytime experiences including panel discussions with local farms, makers and guest chefs, fireside chats with the legendary Allan Benton and Darrell Benton of Benton’s Country Ham, beer sampling and bourbon tasting. Guests will have the opportunity to privately shop a selection of goods by Blanc Creatives and local vendors.

Morningside Supper Series: Lawrence Weeks

Lawrence Weeks is the Executive Chef of both North of Bourbon and Ensō in Louisville, KY and was named a 2024 James Beard Foundation Awards Semifinalist for “Emerging Chef.” Raised in Louisville, Weeks dedicated himself to cooking when he was a child and was heavily influenced by his parents’ international travel and his extended family’s Creole and Cajun roots.

On Monday, November 4, Chef Weeks will prepare a special collaborative meal with RT Lodge Executive Chef Trevor Stockton.
